IPS e.max® is made from a material called lithium disilicate also known as glass-ceramic. The composition is made up of quartz, lithium dioxide, phosphor oxide, alumina, and potassium oxide. This composition gives the glass-ceramic a high thermal shock resistance, thus contributing to their quality and durability.

IPS e.max® is recommended for anterior and single-tooth restorations. With a metal-free base, you don’t have any greying around the gingival line as you would with a traditional PFM. This restoration is also to be etched and bonded giving you a superior join from tooth structure to crown.
